I want to get back to the last iPhone IOS version that supports Windows XP – which I believe to be 10.0.1. My XP PC will not recognize the iPhone to restore the older ipsw file and my Windows 7 PC will recognize the iPhone, allows me to select the older .ipsw file, but fails during the restore process with a code 3194. To restore the ispw for 10.0 or 10.0.1 to the iPhone, can I do this on the Windows XP system (iTunes with the phone in DFU mode) or the Windows 7 system (iTunes with the phone in DFU mode)? Thanks.

as far as iOS 10.1 is in beta stage, I won’t use it for long. I rather prefer to stay on iOS 11.2.1 or iOS 10.0.2 before Apple publishes iOS 10.1 to public stable version.
