      1. You both are wrong, no one can stole it from Evad3rs at all.
I always get suspicious when someone starts throwing out credentials before sharing their opinion – or even their experience. That aside…

I find it interesting that you had so much trouble – especially with your cited professional experience. I won’t bother listing out my qualifications, but I will say that I have been running jailbroken devices since the first jailbreak was available. (Granted, it wasn’t worth much before more apps became available.) Since then, I have had *extremely* few instances where I experienced any problems as a result of jailbreaking. In fact, it’s quite easy to say that I’ve had far more problems with App Store apps crashing than I have with jailbroken apps giving me any grief.

I had a co-worker who shared the same mentality of “I don’t want to mess with it” as you. I respected that ideal. Indeed, I find myself, more and more, unwilling to hack this, tweak that, etc. I think where we differ is that you cite devices as “work” devices. While I check my work email on my iPhone, actually doing work with it is the farthest thing from my mind. I don’t want my life filled with new ways to get work done. Hence, my iPad and iPhone are largely for pleasure. Therefore, I don’t really feel like it’s a tool that should be left alone. Granted, I wouldn’t start adding blink to my tack hammer.

Derailing aside, I’m slightly irritated at the statement of “benefits of jailbreaking are quickly outweighed by the rage that it can induce.” If this is your experience and recommendation, then you’re doing it wrong. It doesn’t have to be like that, at all. If you start injecting into your OS every possible little thing you can download and try, then yes, that might be your experience. But I can pretty much guarantee that if you did the same thing with software on your computer, you’d experience the same agonies.

I feel like it’s safe to say that there is something out there for everyone. And yes, it’s also safe to say that there is plenty out there to cause headaches for everyone. But, it think it’s also safe to say that (as you pointed out) millions would agree that the jailbreak advantages outweigh the associated risks. And I’d narrow that down to say that millions would also probably say that they run their jailbroken hardware, happily, with zero problems or the need to constantly “tweak”. It all depends on how judicious you are with what you install.
