It must be in DFU mode which means you hold down the home and sleep button for 10 seconds then let go of the sleep button but continue to hold down the home button for another 10 seconds. Your screen should be completely black, then you can click restore ???? hope this helps you to fix error 3194
Fix iTunes Error
I found this iPhone 4s and its currently jailbroken and has a passcode on it. i’m trying to restore it but it wants to update as well. In order for it to update i need to unlock it which i can’t. so i downloaded the restore software so when i click restore i click shift and it gives me the restore software to use. but it still shows up as error 3194 help anyone?

I did everything you said and the microsoft support said. ERROR 3194 still appears. I have iphone 3gs, and i accidentally updated to new ver 6.1.6 i tried downgrading to 6.1.3 through snowbreeze but when i restore error 3194 appears. help!!

Well if you used 4 different laptops its pretty safe to say that its an issue with your internet connection router hub switch or Internet service provider.
Can you take a laptop to a friends house and borrow their wifi and see if it works?
I am just trying to rule out your home connection setup.

Just add above given line at the end of your hosts file. It will fix the error 3194 completely without creating any other iTunes errors
