Anyone trying to get past the activation error check my blog, I have just put up a tut on how to get past it now

      and what’s yourblog?

will this method erase anything on the device or will just update like an OTA update?

    Thanks.

    • Evelyn Lopez

No it won’t erase your data. However, it is important to click on the
“Update” button as I have mentioned in the guide, and not the “Restore
button. If you use the “Restore” option, it will erase the data on your
      device.

I ran iOS 8.1.1.2 for about an hour on my iPhone 5S and the phone got
reasonably warm and the battery drained at a reasonable speed (about 1%
per minute). I didn’t get booted off by an activation error though – but
it did happen after I restarted the phone to see what would happen.
Still, it was plenty of time to have a good look round.

        Apart from
that though, the release was pretty bug-free compared to the iOS 8.1.1.2 Beta
1 release, which I ran from day one on my 4S (at the time) right up to
its official release date. I work at an all Mac school so I’ll be
running a few betas of Yosemite and iOS 8.1.1.2 before they get released so I
can become familiar with them and hit the ground running explaining the
new features to staff and students

I have installed iOS 8.1.1.2 on my iPhone, which is quite buggy. I have iTunes 11.1.3.8, and i get an error when i try to restore to
a previous version of ios. ios 8.1 to 6.1.4 and i don’t know what to
do, people say that i should install a older version of iTunes to get it
to work. I have tried with iTunes 10, but iTunes 10 only say that i
need to update iTunes to a newer version and wont connect with my iPhone
5 (Global) i have tried to put it in DFU mode and recovery mode. Only
then will iTunes 10 connect with my iPhone 5, but when i restore it only
shows me an error again. Please help me! Thanks!

Can i make a downgrade to iOS 8.1.1.2 with an iPhone 5 and/or 4 with the
currently installed iOS 8.1.1.2 beta? of course I mean going from iOS 8.1.1.2 beta and
      later switching to iOS 8.1.1.2?
