SBSettings and Poof are the Cydia tweaks that can hide any stock app from your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. If you haven’t jailbroken iOS, there are couple of alternative ways to hide those apps without jailbreak your iOS.
Like any operating systems, iOS also comes with lots of built-in applications such as multimedia, productivity, tools, games and stock apps. They are really useful and must have apps, however, you can easily hide them, if you don’t like any of them or all.
There are many ways to do so. There are Cydia tweaks available for jailbroken iOS to hide these applications, whereas for non-jailbroken iOS devices, there are some simple tricks available to do so. First of all, we will see those Cydia tweaks that can be used to hide apps on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch.
1 SBSettings: Jailbreak users can easily hide their unuseful apps using SBSettings. It comes with a variety of features and hiding apps is one of them. It will show you all of apps and it depends on you, which application you wanna hide. You can hide all the icons from your springboard or selected apps as per your choice.

How to Hide an App without Jailbreak iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch
If you have upgraded to latest iOS firmware such as iOS 10.2 or newer one, you can hide apps easily. You don’t need any Cydia app or jailbreak. Just follow the simple steps…
- Open Settings, tap on General
- Now tap on Restrictions and make sure there are allowed apps listed.
- Just hide them as per your selection or hide all of those applications.
Tip: You can move all unuseful applications in one particular folder to clean your springboard, this is how you can get rid of those mess up apps.
Conclusion
Cydia apps are better than any trick, so, if possible, jailbreak your iOS with the newest jailbreak too. If you know other alternatives, you can share them in the comments.

does work on iPod 4 gen iOS 6.3
It’s really easy option to hide apps in iPad air, iPad mini and iPhone
How to hide apps on iPad Air? I have iOS 9.1.x
Couldn’t you just move all the apps to the second page and leave the first page blank? That’s what I did. It seemed a lot easier, at least for me. It gives the idea of hiding all the apps and all you have to do is swipe to the left to get to the apps. It seems a lot faster easier.
of course, suppose you have apps to put on one page, you can move other apps to next page
actually, it depends on you
I got this same effect by putting all the of the apps on my home screen in one folder, then moving that folder onto the second page. I rebooted and still have a blank home screen. No need to go Tap and hold and open app switcher etc. Try other workarounds before going with this long way of doing it.
To nest folders and hide stock app they seem to forget to mention that you have to double click the home button just before it goes into jiggle mode otherwise it wont work.
I tried the second one in the trick to hide apps on my iPhone 4, before I switched to android and it crashed my phone with in a few hours of doing it.
Or, you could just put the unwanted apps in a folder and move the folder to its own screen after all of your other screens ….
This always works, never gets reset, and is only a problem if you have no willpower and can’t stop yourself from swiping all the way to the left to satisfy yourself that they are still there. Bonus: you can add or remove apps from this folder without having to jump through any hoops.
That assumes you have an empty screen. Which reminds me of when I discovered the flaw (in OS 6 at least) that, if you fill up all your screens, and you download a new app, the only way to launch it is to remember its name and type it into spotlight. With no more available screens, it won’t display the app anywhere. And it will not give you a message letting you know, either.
The blue dot on icons in iOS 10 means that it is a new version of the app, and the app has not been opened. Once opened for the first time after download the blue dot goes away.
I tried the above trick to hide my stock apps and it worked fine; but once I turn off my iPhone and back on the hidden stock apps and apps were all back on the springboard. I know it is a flaw; just letting everyone know what happens when you reboot your iPhone after performing the above mentioned trick.
So I decided to try hiding stocks and newsstand…it worked, but now I can’t get the apps back. Stocks comes up when I do a spotlight search, but newsstand doesn’t work at all, and they aren’t returning when I reboot my phone. Anyone else have anything like this happen?
This trick works on version iOS 9.1
That is true to some degree, but not all. Can you choose to remove the doors on the car you purchased? Or remove the “E” key on your computer keyboard? Or your little toes? Those things are there for a reason, and while you could remove them, it would disrupt the designed and function of the object in question.
I’m assuming you did not purchase those Jahovah’s Witnesses? Because if you did, then they would be your responsibility, and of course you would have to give them a room.
The iPhone comes with a number of well-documented features. If you don’t want them, perhaps you should not purchase an iPhone. If you don’t need a camera, for example, you can simply choose not to use it, or buy a smart phone that does not have one. But it would not make sense to remove the camera from an iPhone once purchased. It doesn’t take up any space and will not interfere with your normal daily use. Which precisely describes the apps in the folder moved to the last screen, as I suggested.
it wont work on my iPhone 5. it turned grey but after that it didn’t hide it. it just stayed on the dock! does it always work?
I tried this on my iPad and iPhone, it worked. Was so happy until I find out that if u turn your device off and then back on, the stock apps appear right back. It happened on both of my devices.
Cluttering the home screen? Why not just move the unwanted icons their own page at the end. Then if you don’t want to see them just don’t swipe over to that page?
Thank u so much now I can get those out of the way.
Did I you know, if you choose a folder on the bottom of the screen (your favourites) and press home (after making the chosen folder dark) it puts a folder inside a folder, it can be done multiple times.
Does this work on ios 9? I’ve iPad air
