How to Install BiteSMS 8.0.3 on iOS 9
BiteSMS 8.0.3 is released today. 8.0.3 is actual official release. Yesterday was full of controversy in jailbreak community. The first version 8.0.1 was leaked version that was pulled out from Cydia app store just after a few hours after release unofficially.
BiteSMS 8.0.3 officially released by the developers, however, still there are a lot of bugs. The good news is 90% of the app works wonderfully on all jailbreak iDevices including iPhone 5C, 5, 4S, 4, iPad Air, iPad Mini, iPod Touch 5th Generation except iPhone 5S.
It adds quick reply, quick compose, signature, a lot of new smileys and much more. Its the best alternative to iMessage app. BiteSMS 8.0.2 works like a charm on iOS 10.2, 7.0.3 and all former firmwares.
The developers have indicated that a lot more quick beta versions will come out in near future to make it work better in all iOS 10.2 compatible iDevices including iPhone 5S, iPad Air and iPad Mini 2 Retina Display.

How to Install BiteSMS for iOS 9
You must jailbreak your iOS device using Evasi0n7 1.0.1 with the Cydia installer. All iOS 10.2 iDevices are compatible except iPhone 5S. Cydia user have to download BiteSMS 8.0.3 by adding their beta testing repo source. Follow steps…
- Go to springboard and open Cydia.
- Tap on Manage, Sources, Edit and Add
- You need to add http://test-cydia.bitesms.com to the source list.
- Now, search BiteSMS for iOS 10.2 in above mentioned BiteSMS repository.
- Tap on install button listed at the right side of the app.
- Done

added the repo, opened cydia, and downloaded biteSMS for ios9, installed it and immediately everything stopped working.
when I click ANY icon, the screen flashes, but the program doesn’t open!
but, when I double click my home button, the programs are there for me to manually close.
I sure would like to keep from resetting to factory settings, then re-jailbreaking

Installed BiteSMS 9.1.7 on iPhone 5, iOS8.4 and like all the others it doesn’t show up anywhere. What gives?
First, you should check settings out there in bite sms settings app
first check that there is iMessage on your springboard of iPhone? Suppose, you can still see iMessage on homepage, it means Bite SMS is not installed on your iPhone.
Uninstall BiteSMS and reinstall it from official repository. Reply, if problem persist.

Remove mobile substrate completely (yes this will remove any tweak you have installed) restart springboard and reinstall mobile substrate. BiteSMS should work after installing again. The other issue i have notices is that the send button on quick reply is grayed out. If i need to provide a log i will search and get one for you.

It says quick reply wont show because your sbsettings “sms alerts ” toggle has been set to off how do i change that
i found out that the problem was with mobile Mobilesubstrate code, by re installing it i got the app and it replaced by stock messaging app, but after one restart it went back to stock state, so i guess there is some incompatibility with Mobilesubstrate code.
i’ll update to BiteSMS 8.0.3 now on iOS 9

are you dim or something? it clearly says its not for the 5s as mobile substrate hasn’t been updated by saurik to support 64 bit chips yet?! Anything that needs to use substrate will NOT function on the 5s, apps that install without mobile substrate will work on the 5s.

just got updated to 8.0.3, works but crashed at quick compose in lock screen. iphone restarted and was weird, didn’t get a message that the phone went into safe mode… but it seemed like that’s what happened. Also in cydia the it had me redo the update for bitesms. Everything back to normal after that. Using iphone 4

I have been using bitesms for a year now and it never caused a crash or an issue. I would say other tweaks tend to do this but not bitesms. It is a straights forward tweak. Well made, thats why it is pricey.

I recently removed Bitesms from my jbroken phone.
Some apps just dont play well with others (when jailbroken), and Although I had mostly got my pretty stable… Occassionally I would get a bug. (random reboot, freezes, crashes).
Although Crashreporter didnt always identify the culprit. I’ve found my phone to be more stable without Bitesms. Truth be told; the tweaks “Copic”, and “smstimestamps”… gave me all the benefits I wanted from Bitesms.
This is very disappointing. When I heard that the makers of BiteSMS were working of “Text Heads,” I expected something just like Chat Heads but for Texts. I was hoping to put “Text Heads” of my most used contacts on my lock screen and text them from there. What we got was something that has existed for Jailbroken iPhones for years. And it looks just as ugly as it always has.

Actually, there is a reason, this program interferes with the latest version of the Facebook iPhone application (or vice versa, either way, they conflict)
